September 2020 update Part 1

9/15/2020

Greetings, friends. It’s been a long while since I’ve updated this page, which, it occurs to me, makes it seem like nothing’s going on around here. Actually, several clients have been in to record and mix, and I’ve got a lot of really good recording related stuff happening across the board with some super talented musicians.

I do think many bands and artists are realizing that this forced Covid-19 worldwide timeout is a mixed blessing (as much as a global pandemic can be, I guess); many are utilizing the touring freeze to get creative and put some serious energy into writing and recording.

I’ll give just a brief shout out here to the many projects recently completed and to those in the works as I type. For links, look on the “Artist” Page.

Pioneer Mother is about to drop there debut full length, recorded here in January and February by yours truly. I just heard the final masters (mixed by Shaun Kinney and mastered by G&J Audio) and it sounds great. Congrats.

Oliver Jacobson has recently released a beautiful single - “Wonder Where We’re Going” - I played drums on it and mixed it, and Oliver did the rest. It’s a simple, spacious and haunting track, and I really love it.

Dechen Hawk and I have been working together closely as well. Dechen released “I Want You Around” in 2019, and the B side to that killer track is about to drop, titled “Lady Divine.”

Bluegrass up-and-comers Pick and Howl recorded an entire full length album here at IntroVertigo over a 3 day stretch in July, with Producer Andy Thorn of Leftover Salmon whipping these guys into serious shape. Look for an extended post on these sessions, coming soon. I’ll be mixing this record next. Look for a fall release. This one SMOKES!

More to come in Part 2 - I’m saving the best news for last.

Again, apologies for the long period of radio silence. No worries… I’m back!
